http://en.lichess.org/la3vcetg1r2xhere's the game i won. pure luck, but i had no idea what i was doing. the mate just somehow came to me.
and yes; due to my exams i've been playing crap now.
I used to practice this when I was studying different mating combos. Its very counter intuitive for me. If you practice with a strong engine it usually pulls out some tricks not mentioned in most coaching vids. I didn't watch the one posed above yet though.
The analysis on that game is kinda weird.
Stockfish keeps giving white a blunder for making his only legal move with the trapped king. It also says you lost a forced mate sequence when you didn't; the king still had only one legal move, which led to the forced mate sequence (this happens twice after the white king is alone).
I could be missing something, but I don't think so :/
Chesscaptcha! :D
No actually both sides did make several mistakes.^
It only shows up as a blunder in the counter at the bottom for the actual, non-bug cases as in the display.
Use tablebase for any questions like that with max. 6 pieces left (including Kings) lol
http://www.k4it.de/index.php?topic=egtb&lang=enI was also gonna link to that too except on a different site. :)
http://www.shredderchess.com/online-chess/online-databases/endgame-database.htmlk4it is probably better since shredderchess domain has troubles once in a while.
But I figured, why bother?
I've already linked to endgame tablebases like 10 times over on this site.
Nobody pays attention.
Maybe now that somebody else have to link to it some people will know. :D
Oh xiaoGAYiao, you're such a badass !!!

Nice game there! How in the world can that position occur? I've never really seen that, NEVER!
Awesome game!
Oh, by the way, Mephostophilis, you start a TON of forum conversations!
